Crosland Donates $20,000 to Durham’s W.I. Patterson Neighborhood Center Raleigh, N.C., April 9, 2008 – Crosland LLC, one of the Triangle’s leading real estate companies, donated $20,000 to the W.I. Patterson Neighborhood Center for their after-school tutorial and youth summer job programs. David Ravin, Crosland’s residential division president presented the $20,000 check to Willie Patterson, Crest Street Community Council President and Betty Johnson, the Council’s Secretary. Crosland has also committed to an additional $20,000 over the next 4 years, for a donation total of $40,000.
The W.I. Patterson Neighborhood Center is located on Crest Street in a small, predominantly African-American community located just north of the Duke Medical Center and Veterans Administration Medical Center, between Fulton Street, Douglas Street, Erwin Road, and the Durham freeway. The center and Duke’s Project H.O.P.E. work as partners to operate the after-school tutorial program for children ages 5-12. The youth summer job program was created for area high school students and includes a variety of duties including landscaping and area clean up.
