
Crosland has several new affordable housing development projects now under construction or in lease up. All of Crosland's affordable properties have rents considerably lower than rents at similar market rate properties. These projects are reserved for low and very low income households. Details regarding rents and qualifying resident incomes can be obtained from each project’s leasing office, when those offices are opened near the end of each project’s construction period. Brief descriptions of each of Crosland's affordable projects that are under construction follow.
Clara Cox
Clara Cox Apartments will consist of 80 affordable units for families including one, two and three-bedroom garden apartments and three bedroom town houses. The community will be located in High Point, North Carolina, and is the first phase of the redevelopment of the former Clara Cox Homes. The new community will include a separate community building with management offices, computer center, community room and laundry facilities. Additionally, the site amenities include a gazebo, picnic areas, outdoor sitting areas and a children's playground. Fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryer connections, patios/porches, will accompany comfortable living spaces, closets and storage in all units.
Crosland will be the principal developer, general contractor and property manager for the community. Construction is scheduled to begin in the summer 2010 with completion expected in the fall 2011. The Landings at Winmore will consist of 58 affordable units for families. The community will include two and three bedroom garden apartments and two bedroom townhome units encompassed in four buildings integrated in the prestigious Winmore Subdivision in Carrboro, North Carolina. As part of the broader Winmore community, the residents of The Landings will have access to all community amenities which will including a resident clubhouse, swimming pool, Frisbee golf course, children's play areas and greenway walking trails. A separate resident's center will be included in The Landings at Winmore community. The units will include open floorplans, fully equipped kitchens including pantries, washer/dryer connections, balconies and outdoor storage in all units.
